About Ova

Ova's Intention:
1. Providing an interactive, client mindful, massage, that is sensitive to the particular needs of each client.

2. Making the massage a spiritual, as well as physical, expression of loving kindness and compassion.

3. Using light pressure to deep tissue, customized to the wants and therapuetic needs of the client.

4. Provide preventative measures to maintain the healing, if the client so desires


Education and Experience:

Ova, a Traditional Thai massage practitioner since 1995, has studied for some time with a revered Master Teacher of 30 years, Pichet Boonthumme, and other schools in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Since 2001, Ova has taught Traditional Thai
massage classes, and was head of the Thai Massage Department, 2003-2005, at the World Class, Grand Wailea Resort and Spa, Maui, Hawaii'. Ova is a licensed Massage therapist in New Mexico #5655 and Hawaii' #5281. She is a certified therapist with the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) #311959-00.


Other Professional Abilities:

In addition to Thai Massage, Ova offers The Deep Shiatsu Backwalk, and several styles of table massage: Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Lomi Lomi with Pohakus, Swedish, Reflexology, Orthopoedic/Sports Massage, Jin Shin Do, CranialSacral, and Reiki. For more info on these styles, see the Massage page.


Other Education and Experience:
In 1966, Ova received a B.A. with a Teacher's
Certificate in Speech, Drama, and Art, and taught art for 10 years.


Other Interests:
Since 1969, Ova has practiced Hatha Yoga and that led her to Thai massage which is based on Yoga.

Ova has painted, made ceramics, and other
multi-media art projects for the past 30 years.
